| the block was straight from the factory ..crate short block ..so the knock happened because i did something, not the parts failing. i never removed the crank at all, but i did do what you talked about. all oil galleries were cleaned, inspected, etc.
the crank is not the thing that had the knock. it was the #2 rod bearing. ...however i did check all clearances on the crank to make sure it was not dorked. all within spec. i debated on this for a long time ...i might not have done the most proper thing as far as replacing things. i will keep people informed as to what happens.
